My name is Aarthi Iyer - a citizen of the world living in London, UK. My journey with photography was accidental but life altering. The journey started as a hobby when my daughter was born and photography became a tool to document her moments. But a photography workshop with
Kalyan Varma changed my whole outlook of looking at photography as a channel for storytelling and expression of art.
I love nature, travelling. music and putting my photographic pursuits to use. And when I am not travelling, there are enough moments in a day to slow down and 'click' the roses as well as canals, rivers, birds, dogs, city and its people and sometimes - nothing at all. I photograph the way the subjects make me feel, the way they connect to me, the way I see the story. Hence there may not be a specific subject that stands out for me. My style of photography is candid and natural rather than posed or staged. Stories are a lot more fascinating when they are unpredictable and have just that degree of imperfection!
I have travelled within India, UK, Bhutan, Tanzania, Peru, USA, Canada and Europe and there is still so much to see, so much ground to cover. I am a micro 4/3rds aficionado and own an Olympus OMD EM1. And of course my constant companion wherever I go - my iPhone.
It would be my privilege if any of my pictures interest you. And even more of a privilege to help you or your brand tell a story.
